VIVA EUROPA 2010 - 18 th JUNE - SHOWN LIVE! ON THE BIG SCREEN IN BOURNEMOUTH LOWER GARDENS

Viva Europa 2010 June 18th

VIVA EUROPA 2010 JUNE 18TH is a European cultural event integrated within the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.

The event consists in a simultaneous, free of charge for the public, broadcasting in the various European cities taking part in the event, of the live performance of Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen happening at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía Valencia, Spain.

By simultaneously offering a live transmission to be enjoyed by European citizens this important cultural initiative aims to offer a shared European experience through a relevant cultural form of expression deeply rooted in the European tradition: opera.

Carmen’s role has its origins in European literature and music and has become a universal myth. Bizet’s opera transmits all these emotions.
